Hi, Jennie:
What an exuberance of color and texture! The reflection of light on the oblique angled shot (number one) makes it look like a completely different piece — what I’ve always found never endingly intriguing about fine art is a piece’s different moods and views based upon the time of day, angle and intensity of light, and even the mood of the viewer. The head on frontal shot, coupled with the second shot of the closeup, makes me want to be in the same room and gently brush my (clean) fingers over the surface, but being married to an artist and experienced in working with textiles, I know that that is a no no no.
Thank you for subscribing to Middle Aged Plague. I write a lot, much of which is art-based or art marketing based, but my MAP column is my favorite thing to do, and I am so gratified when people enjoy reading it.
